Yah, I never much cared for the idea that his name or power were in the chest.
I don't know whats in there, but for some reason this always struck me as a weird thing too. Now you've kinda put it into a context where I totally agree - that would just be idiotic. Especially if he did it on purpose.

Hmm that's interesting. He locked all his powerful objects and a piece of himself in there along with the key. It is pretty dumb, but when he asks bast how he would get inside and said he would have gone about it the same way sounds like he has tried to break in as well.

I was reading that part the other day because it came up and it almost seemed to me like maybe Kote actually did have a key.
I think it was in chapter seventy one or two....I'd actually never noticed it before so it was a bit of a surprise for me.
My first theory was that he put his rings and shaed in there, now I just don't know, it's to vast to speculate on for me.

Ahh, I could see that lalaley he is technically expelled. If you still have the link could you post it to the interview you read? I don't think I've read that one and would love too. Ivory Doom I've been trying, and trying but I don't know how I found it. It was months and months ago when I was trying to find out when book three was going to be released. If I remember correctly it was PR doing a Q&A on some forum. Think the question was about Kvothe having a lot to do in book three with a mention of being expelled, and he said he had already been expelled. I'll keep looking, but I don't know what I searched and it was around November last year, I think.

lalaley - oh no big thing, I thought you might have just read it and could send me that way. He does do AMA's often enough on Reddit, but I'm not a big Redditor so I usually miss them. Wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that. Thats really interesting though and good to know for the future. After I get all caught up on Season 7 of Dr. Who me and the old man are going to do a re-listen of the audio versions of KKC for a refresher so I'll keep that in mind.

K's blood. He is able to do things with sympathy using his blood as a source that others think impossible. One example is when he breaks the twice tough glass to save Fela. Kilvin is baffled and has one of the sharpest minds at the University. Another is to light the metal to blind the thugs that jump him. He says a tremendous amount of heat is needed for it to light, and the fire didn't work so he used his blood and bam works no problem. The only thing I could think of is his Lackless blood(if his mom is really a Lackless) there must be some great power in his bloodline to allow him to do these things. Has anyone else noticed his profound use of his blood as a source in his sympathy? I would assume

strangebrewd, I think I saw your post on Goodreads, and it blew my mind! That could be a huge part of the 7 things that stand before the Lackless door. The son who brings the blood - Kvothe, seemingly - and then 6 other things. Time that must be right, word forsworn, etc. I'm gonna take another look at that poem. Good catch.

Thanks. I am still working on a re-read through WMF and want to see if there is any more examples while they are hunting the bandits. I recall him using his blood when he was attacking the camp, but am not certain. I will post more on both sites once I get to that part(he just got to the Maer). But yeah I think that ties in perfectly with the son who brings the blood part. Just have to start thinking more on the other 6. I know some people have made some cases for them so I will need to go back and look at those theories again once I get some more time.
