Oh no, that's horrible. It peaked at 40' yesterday but it only lasted for an hour or two, and was back to the 70s (F) overnight, that was bad enough.
I officially don't think I can read Sci-Fi anymore. The female characters are hilariously underwritten and shallow. It's like the writers have never, you know, talked to a girl. I just finished Brin's The Postman and the 'crazy, unstable feminist' idea is that women should be allowed to fight alongside the men. Seriously?

displacement yeah what you said about female characters it's sadly the truth. But I think that this problem it's not limitated to Sci-Fi, you can find hilarious stupid women everywhere....books, tv shows, movies. It's 2013 already, and it is sad that we aren't able to step forward. Anyway, I find that the Malazan books have a nice story, which develops in an unique and original way, and that they deserve a chance. (but I've read only two books out of ten, as far... I might change my mind! let's only say that for now I'm liking them!) lalaley yes it's insane!! the desert of Sahara will officially swallow us all, if this hellfire goes on! I've realized only now that Fener is reading HP, in you avatar! hahaah! I do like HP too! Hercules, my hamster, is now officially running in his box like there's no tomorrow.

alexiel yes! Darth is officially a potter fan! I'm an official potterhead. Luckily it is raining here today. Yesterday was too hot! Are your summers always so scorching? I officially cried like a wuss reading Lupins story on pottermore last night. And in further official news, the boyfriend is away all weekend playing stupid gigs and I'm left on my Todd with the baby! Though, is isn't an official baby anymore... Seeing as he is 2...

Okay, I officially feel sorry for displacement 's dog, but that was just officially funny. LOL! I know where you are coming from my friend. I have rush home every break to let mine out too. (very officially of course) Thankfully they are kind enough to keep there accidents to the kitchen tile upon failure.(which is not very official but definitely appreciated...) I'm also officially editing this to say, that The Postman is officially one of the few novels I found the movie more enjoyable. I loved the movie and when I found out there was an official book, I borrowed it from the Library, it was officially MEH.

I'm officially back from Rome, and I've officially ate too much. Ugh. lalaley the death of Remus and Tonks was so heartbreaking and unfair, that I don't know if I can forgive JK Rowling for that. One of the worst death I ever read in a book. Thumbs down!! Ivory Doom you mean the movie with Kevin Costner? I didn't know it was based on a novel..

alexiel - Yes the movie with Kevin Costner. I didn't know it was based off a book for ages, only found out about a year ago, so of course I read it asap. Didn't really care for it though. The first half is fairly similar to the movie but I thought the last half was just weird.

I put of reading the book because the film was just destroyed by the critics. My favorite from Rotten Tomatoes: "Die-hard Kevin Costner fans may find themselves changing their mind after seeing this overlong, lumbering mess, a miserable failure in just about every respect." Ouch! I still haven't seen it but after reading the book I can see the myriad ways it could have been screwed up Edit: Speaking of Post-apocalyptic fiction, have you guys seen the Queen's speech that was just realeased by the National Archives of the UK? It's a short speech that was meant to be delivered in case of a nuclear war. Chilling stuff. I'm officially not a proponent for WW3 breaking out.

displacement - I would say I'm OFFICIALLY a pretty big Kevin Costner fan for one. (LOL) He's one of the few big screen actors I actually find attractive also, which I will admit, may be the only real reason I officially like his acting. That being said, I quite enjoyed The Postman, it's one of my favorites he's ever done. Right up there with Dances with Wolves in my opinion. I think critics like to bag on Costner because 1. - Waterworld and 2. the guy has made literally millions off playing the same character in pretty much EVERY SINGLE movie. LOL. I also liked Waterworld, btw. Maybe not the best storyline but that was back when they actually MADE movie sets, and that shit is straight insane. Plus, they made a badass water show based on it at Marine World here when we still had it in Cali. I officially recommend you watch the movie, though I do believe it might be out of production. I had to buy my copy off the internet.

I'm officially back! I was in Marsa Alam and I had to officially repatriate two days before the end of my holiday, because the situation is too unstable...empty planes came to take us home. But, as much as I can say, we had no problem at all in the resort. I officially hope that the violence will stop, Egypt is such a charming country.
