Love Elodin. But my favorite ancillary character is probably Devi. I think while she is devious and calculating, a lot of the time she also says the first thing that pops into her mind. For instance when Kvothe comes to apologize and is soaked, she says it won't make her feel any better toward him, but then says, actually, no it is making her feel much better. Or when she's talking about Fela's breasts. lol.

Elodin, because he's hilarious
Kilvin, because he's decent and just
Auri, because she's the only innocent character in the story
Mola, because she's the best female role model in the books; she works hard and has earned what she's got

Elodin, the Cthaeh, Auri, Lanre... I like all these characters with a misterious aura on them,,, the Cthaeh is absolutely fabulous, only mentioning its name makes the blood boil with thrill and rage!
But to tell the truth, I really love Magister Kilvin, because he made me feel comfortable. It's a pity that he plays such a minor part. He's onest, always willing to hear Kvothe's defence before judging him, steady and flawless. He's the kind of person that you know you can rely on, and that's pretty precious. For the same reasons, I like Fela too.

I love Kilvin because he has no guile, he's just a completely open person. As soon as he asked Kvothe his admissions question ('how do you make an ever-burning lamp?') I knew he'd be one of the truest good guys in the book. He doesn't hold back, if he thinks you know something he wants to know he'll ask, and if he thinks you're being an idiot he'll tell you. He reminds me of the kind of guy people describe as 'teddybears' - used to play rugby or football or something in college so they're big, but have kind of lost interest in athletics so physically they're kind of rounded off. They're strong as oxen but were born gentle and wouldn't hurt a fly. Yet they have all the confidence that comes from a lifetime of people being afraid to mess with them! Kilvin's awesome.

Elodin seems to be everyones favorite. Well, he's mine, too. I also like Bast, mostly because he's mysterious, you don't know how he became Kvothes student and he pretends to be a nice guy. Other favorite characters inlude Kvothe himself, Kilvin, Devi, Elxa Dal and Auri. Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention Hespe and Dedan.
