Thanks for creating the thread alexiel.  Okay everyone first off if you do not know what this thread is for then here's a quick explanation. This thread is for our users to co-ordinate our efforts to cleanup the KKC Wiki and begin making it more accurate and reader-friendly. This will involve adding information to certain pages, the correction and organization of the categories, and the idetification and removal of the un-wanted pages. Second I would like to go ahead and tell everyone everything that I have already done on the wiki. Primarily I have been concentrating on editing the MediaWiki code, however I have already started the process of clearing out all the categories, and editing pages. Currently we need to work on clearing out ALL the categories on pages so that we can correctly re-categorize them. If you do not know how to do this you simply go onto a page and look to the top where it says "Categories" and you simply remove all the categories that are listed, if you don't know how you just click the small rubbish bin looking symbol beside the name of the Category. Once all pages have their categories removed, then we will collectively discuss each page. Then an ADMINISTRATOR will add a category to the page (I am currently working on getting Ivory Doom Administrator status on the wiki.) More information will be posted about this project as it becomes available. Also all members involved with this will recieve the following badge on their profile on the wiki and on the forums.  EDIT: Also the Chat Room on the wiki has been activated so if you want to use that to communicate with oother Cleanup members while they are online please feel free to do so. All right, I'll try to find you online in the chat room....but there are 6 hours of difference between me and you, we'll might never be online at the same time..  I've seen that you have posted a To Do list, but I have a question: how do I decide what pages or photos are unwanted? Are there guidelines to follow? I really don't want to make a mess, so I think it's better if I wait until the cleanout is complete. |

Unwanted photos are photos that have been added to the wiki by users, but have no relevence to the books and they have not been used on talk pages.
Unwanted pages are pages that serve no purpose.
You'll know one if you see it.
When you see one, if you're not sure just put {{delete}} at the bottom of page when your in the edit screen for a page, and I'll take a look at it and see if I should delete it or not.

I might be interested in helping out. Not sure how much time I have available... What exactly is needed? Aside from the clean up. Are you asking for people to rewrite passages about the books?

That's part of what we want to do. Articles that are categorized as "stubs" need more content. If you know anything about those pages just go ahead and add it. |

I'm really excited about this project guys!! I will have more time to jump in and work with y'all next week. I'm putting up my winter stocks right now, so a bit overwhelmed with veggies at the moment and they don't wait around, just so ya know. LOL!
Anywho, I kept a list on my profile there of the pages I cleaned up at the time, they may have been edited since, I gave up going back and fighting with it as I was one of the only people editing with an actual book apperantly. LOL. But my username is IvoryDoom, as usual. You can see the list there, but don't take it as a no edit zone or anything. Those should just be the better pages that need less editing than the stubs.
