Since we all come from goodreads, we should absolutely talk of books too! I can't get enough and can't live without..throw me in a library an I might never leave!
What book are you reading right now?

Re-reading the first law series. Good stuff, but I do need a new series to read.

New stuff of what genre? I'm reading a fantasy, The left hand of god...I don't know yet if I like it...the main character is a bit the know-it-all type

Woo hoo.
I just finished Polgara The Sorceress on Audio, it was awful. So glad to be done with Belgariad/Mallorean.
Now I am reading Outlander as my free read. The Memory Keepers Daughter is my real life book club book for the month. And I'm listening to Siege of Darness on Audio. (Much more enjoyable than Polgara. LOL!)

Fantasy preferably or maybe sci-fi. I have been meaning to get back into the way of Kings but just can't get past blue first few chapters

This is left field but I just picked up a science book published in 1952 called "Fads and Fallacies" about hokey junk science being peddled as fact. One of the chapters is about "Eccentric Sexual Behaviors" and with how puritanical the US was in the 50s I'm curious to see where it goes.
More in this vein, Way of Kings is next on my Fantasy list. I've never read the author before but everyone says it's amazing so high hopes there.

displacement Brandon Sanderson gets A LOT of hype I notice. He has yet to live up to it for me, but I may be the exception instead of the rule. I have tried numerous times to figure out what it is that people are always so excited about. Personally, I can tell he writes fast, think he could do a lot better if he took more time. Hopefully he does that with Way of Kings. The first was only alright in my opinion, and I heard he intends for it to be an epic. He has talent, no doubt, but he might be pushing out to many projects at one time. Some of the writing is a bit shaky, especially when he gets lumped in and compared to the likes of Rothfuss and Martin all the time because of his WOT writing. In my opinion, both are much much more skilled, so it kinda sucks for him he had to finish off Jordan's story and get put up against such greats. In my opinion, of course. Plus, I think he is signed with TOR and they have notoriously bad editing, of course, that is also my opinion. LOL! emmi - I did not like that book when I had to read it in school, but I enjoyed the ending. I think my favorite school read was probably A Seperate Peace. I remember doing Oedipus Rex in my last year of English too and I just was not mature enough for that weird shit. LOL. strangebrewd - Do you have a Goodreads Profile you can link to us and we can make some recommendations based on what you've read? Also, have you read ASOIAF? I pretty much think anyone who read and loves KKC should read A Song of Ice and Fire because they will enjoy it. Another book I recommend a lot to KKC fans is Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It's not exactly fantasy, but it is an amazing read. I could not put it down. Simply amazing, easy 5 stars, deserved more.

I do. I would have to get home to link it though. I am on the Rothfussians as Brandon, but will try and remember to link it later.
Yeah I read it before KKC. I love that series, but it's sooo long I haven't re-read it yet. Plus mostly I listen to books since I work alone and they help pass the time. The guy that reads Brandon Sanderson's books is so boring it's hard to get through. So that plays a big part in the books I listen to lately.

LOL! Thats awesome, I do the exact same thing at work. What do you do? I'm an accountant, so mostly it's just me, the computer, and my handy dandy calculater.
Oh another book you should check out - though it doesn't have an audio yet. Is Eternal Knight. I loved it. It's free on Amazon, the author has been self publishing on there, he's going to have a sequal out soon. Like this month or next month. I plan on actually buying that one since the first was free and I want to support Matt Heppe as much as possible.
I haven't read it, but heard the Ryria Series was really enjoyable.

Haha yeah I could have done a better cover than that first one. I am currently a manager of a storage facility while I am in school. So I just clean and fix stuff most the day.

I suggest to all of you The Killing Moon, by Nora Jemisin. It has a sequel named The Shadowed Sun. I absolutely love her, she has an unique way of pulling you inside her stories. Since her books haven't been translated (god I swear I'll be a book translator in my next life!!), she's the main reason I've registered to goodreads... I was looking for other fans! And then I've found my way to the Rothfussians Right now I'm reading Among Others by Joe Walton, winner of 2011 Hugo Award for Best Novel... I'm really liking it!

I just finished Gone Girl- lordy that was a good ride. I'd recommend it if you're in the mood for something crimey. It's a challenging book to like, you can ignore it if you're not the kind of person that likes black comedy or anti-heroes
