I love the hidden bits of knowledge that are scattered around these books, waiting to get picked up on 2nd or 3rd reads. For example, we have found out that Kote means "disaster" through a conversation that seems almost incidental and is easily overlooked.
What other pieces of trivia have you all come across? Not theories, just small facts about the world.
In Chapter 1 of NW Kote says "Begone Demon!" and then repeats it in another language using the word "denna" - it's not clear what denna means in that context or even what language it is but there's something there.
Also, while Kvothe is on his way to find Denna in Trebon he comes across a tinker that offers him strawberry wine, which he refuses. Later, Denna tells him she would have loved to have some and he regrets not getting it for her. Later, he does buy some for her in Imre during one of their better days together. At the beginning of NW, while Chronicler is trying to coax the story out of Kote, he says something along the lines of "Some say there was a girl," and venting his fury an unmoving Kvothe shatters a glass bottle standing 5 feet away - a bottle of strawberry wine.
