Hello, everyone! I guess this is as good a place as any for folks to introduce themselves as they join. Even if that just means stating your migration from the Goodreads group.

Hi all! I've been a part of the goodreads group, but mostly just a lurker. All of the discussions were a bit overwhelming. I'm excited to have a forum for them now though.

Hi everybody, I'm not really from the Goodreads group so I thought I'd introduce myself. I found the books through Goodreads but only finished enjoying them yesterday; I've already begun my second reading. I work on cars, run a menswear blog, and if anybody wants to talk international finance I'm down for it.

Hello, I was part of the Goodreads group, but I don't think I ever posted. I read a bit of it though... I read the books last year, and have been waiting semi-patiently for book three. Currently re-reading WMF, but it's taking me quite a while. Looking forward to discussing the books.

I'm E.T., a 17 years old guy from Canada. I'm French, but I speak English well too. I'm a Photoshop artist. I mostly make Space Art pieces, but I'm actually trying new styles right now. In addition, I just started to draw. I also make websites, develop Flash games and apps and I can make 3D models and animations (with Lightwave 3D). I play guitar, piano, violon and percussions. I started to play piano because guitar was getting too easy for me (I was learning songs faster than my own teacher >.<) and started to play violon because piano is also too easy. Oh yeah, I forgot, I love music and love to read books. That's it, I think. Here's a link for my favorite space art I made (this is actually my first one, but still the one I prefer the most): maxfusion6.deviantart.com/art/Sigma-System-V-2-310149350See ya all! EDIT: And you might see me a lot now that there is a role-play section, just got to read the Kingkiller Chronicles over again

Just wanted to say Hi! I wasn't active on the Goodreads boards, I hope to participate a bit more here. I've read the books a while back and details are not as crisp as they used to be, so I may have to re-read one of these days.
I don't ever get tired of recommending this series, it's amazing!!

I'm excited to see some of you Lurkers taking the opportunity to post. I know the Goodreads group can be daunting for new members to navigate, so we kinda get stuck with a core group who is always bouncing ideas off eachother without any fresh perspective, so...yah, this is gonna be cool!
I'm Amber, I mod over on the goodreads forums and post incessantly, now I'm modding over here as well with Scott and some of the others. Hoping this will work nicely and maybe after we get the boards a little more population we can pull together a group who can work on making the wiki a little more...erm...correct. LOL. Never was much interest for it on the goodreads group, but I'm putting it out there because that shit is downright awful on some of the pages and I noticed Scott was cool enough to link it into the boards. Would be great if we could make it something nice fans could access like the ASOIAF one.
Anywho - I'm pretty chill. I'm not a nazi mod, so long as there is no direct name calling probably wont have much input in the form of authority. LOL.
A little about myself, I live in California, 26 years old. I have a lot of hobbies, including but not limited to - Reading - obviously, Gaming - All forms, TableTop, PC, Console - you name it, I'll play it....well...unless it's totally lame. I also enjoy Gardening and Long Boarding, when it's not 116 degrees outside like it has been for the past week. LOL.

Hi everyone! I've also been a lurker on the Goodreads group. I can't promise I'll be more active posting on here, but I do think it's awesome that we have a forum now!
I guess we're introducing ourselves here, so a little about me... My name is Tara, I'm 29 years old, and I live in Georgia (the state, not the country). Don't be fooled though, I'm a northerner through and through (I'm a transplant)! ;-) My biggest passions are baseball, music, and of course reading! I also love dogs, the ocean (water in general, really, but the ocean specifically), and the color blue. And I'm moderately obsessed with names...have been my whole life, but it actually seems relevant here, so I thought I'd mention it, LOL.
Looking forward to seeing what ends up on these boards! You all have such interesting discussions! Maybe I'll even jump in sometime. I'm shy, though ;-)

Hello, I wouldn't say I was even a lurker on the goodreads group - I spent more time discussing KKC on the ASOIAF boards actually. Glad to see this is up though - looking forward to the discussions

Cool cool to you both. Don't be too shy! You never know, sometimes people throw out ideas that don't "seem" all that good, but after everyone weedles away at it we come up with some really awesome perspective we didn't have before. zupoleon What ASOIAF board do you frequent? Westeros.org? I like them too, don't post much there since it's pretty packed and sometimes hard to follow, but lots of awesome ideas to read there.

Hey ivorydoom, yes, westeros.org (as a matter of fact, your I think I recognized your username from those boards . I started there for obvious reasons, and still discuss the ASOIAF books ad nauseum, heheh. I wasn't much of a reader, but then I started spending more time on the Literature section of the forum about a year ago (waiting for Martin's next book to come out), and something clicked. That's how I was initially introduced to Rothfuss, and have been devouring a long list of SFF books since... ETA: how do you 'tag' someone in a post, as you did with me?
